YDO recently took part in the Gender Mainstreaming Workshop, hosted by International Alert and UNDP Lebanon. It was a valuable space for learning, sharing, and collaboration.
Along with fellow NGOs, we explored how to include gender equality in social stability programs. The discussions were rich and thought-provoking. Most importantly, they gave us new ideas to support women in our communities.
Throughout the workshop, we saw how vital it is to look at every program through a gender lens. This means making sure that both women and men benefit equally from social initiatives.
Moreover, we learned that local NGOs and municipalities have a powerful role to play. They are key to building communities that are both stable and fair for all.
In the end, the workshop didn’t just teach us theory, it inspired us to act. We left with a deeper understanding and stronger motivation to help create real, lasting change.
