CAN FIX IT Workshop: Building Peace Through Communication and Teamwork

The CAN FIX IT workshop was held at Baakline Official Secondary School as part of the Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea (YXP) initiative, an Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in the Field of Youth project.

Created and facilitated by youth workers Dalia Kaassamany, Dima Kaedbey, and Sara, the workshop aimed to raise awareness among young people about the importance of promoting peace and resolving conflicts constructively within society.

Through interactive and collaborative activities, participants explored how communication, understanding, and teamwork can help prevent conflicts and create more peaceful and inclusive communities.

The workshop focused on several key learning objectives:

  1. Developing the ability to solve conflicts through effective communication.
  2. Understanding and respecting the needs and perspectives of others.
  3. Learning how to approach and resolve problems peacefully.
  4. Accepting the different roles, personalities, and characters that exist within society.
  5. Strengthening teamwork and understanding that success or failure is shared by the whole team.
  6. Recognizing that unity and cooperation are stronger than division.

The activities encouraged participants to communicate, listen to one another, work together, and consider different perspectives when facing challenges. By creating a safe and engaging learning environment, the workshop demonstrated how young people can become active contributors to peace in their schools and communities.

The CAN FIX IT workshop was implemented under the Youth for Peace initiative, highlighting the important role of youth work and non-formal education in building a culture of dialogue, acceptance, and peaceful coexistence.

The initiative is co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Iniciativa Internacional Joven.

Together, we can communicate, understand, cooperate, and build a more peaceful society.
